Today I received a number of photos from an alleged parade that happens yearly in Santa Barbara, California. I received these photos from a dear friend, who with his wife, owns some artifacts from the Chapel of Jimmy Ray. While perusing the photos, I came across the image of a woman sporting a necklace that I had been instructed to make by Jimmy Ray. The last time I saw that necklace was north of San Miguel at an Easter gathering. At that time it was worn by a woman who gave her name as Lolita. Are the artifacts being passed from person to person after they leave my trusted hands? Did this woman named Lolita smuggle the artifact across the border and sell it for an inflated price to a woman in an orange wig with her mouth wide open? When I look at the image, I wonder……is she trying to alert Jimmy Ray? I am curious……..

We are Leaning
…..as Casa Las Ranas (our home) fills to the gills with these pesky artifacts, I have petitioned Jimmy Ray to give me direction in the design of the Chapel. As of now we are leaning towards an adobe sculpture with several nichos, alcoves, mysterious water features…whimsy and groove mentality is in order. As we are leaning and waiting…practice is taking place on the exterior walls of Casa las Ranas…all the while we are still hoping to get the gardens more abundant and remain open to the Absolute Connection……..hmmmmmmm (Connection)
Groovin’ is Easy
Well, I sorta cleaned the studio…put things away…and I am back in the groove. I have conferred with Jimmy Ray and he has begun transmitting messages to me in terms of designing and recreating the Chapel. The transmissions come in the form of ideas…usually when eating or laying prone on the bed in my underwear before drifting into the dream stretches of sleep. I have to admit that I have been reading about this German artist named Hundertwasser…his work is very inspiring…to say the least. It felt so good working in the studio…back into the beat…listening.
Back in the Studio
Well, we are home and I am back in the studio. I am running on about 55% energy. I just need a bit of rest to make up for all that driving. It is great to be back with the animals and our Mexican friends. Carlos is doing some major tiling on the front studio wall. I love it!!!!! Chapel plans are in the wind.
Subdued in Nude Mexico
Now I remember why I quit going to Rock concerts. I am further reminded why I am not living in the United States. We went to a concert last night in Santa Fe. The opening act was a zydeco group and they were very playful and fun. But when the boozy and chemical altered 40 to 60 somethings started to block our view…I got kinda turned off. Mind you, I am all for celebration, but we payed 37 dollars a ticket to sit on the second row and ended up watching a bunch of white people getting ethnic….of course I complained…..nothing happened. We were able to watch the Subdudes but two girls in front of us…perked to the gills with ecstacy and booze were dancing….somehow, I have moved on….America is not my scene. Today, we are in Marfa Texas…an “Art Town”….very much a One Horse Town and the horse’s name is Donald Judd….all the art hangers onzers have saddled up too…and we will be leaving tomorrow early for Mexico….not my kind of town
I’ve Got All the Time in the World
Still in Nude Mexico. Drinking coffee in this wifi cafe. I am enjoying it here. we are going to the flea market today and to the folk art museum this afternoon. Tonight we are going to a concert featuring the Subdudes….a band I remember in Nashville. I recently heard them in a shop in Mill Valley. I was under the impression that they had split up. I bought the CD…looks like they reformed. We were driving down Cerillos Rd. yesterday and Richard saw a sign that they were performing here..sure enough…so we will go tonight….I promise to wear clothes….very colorful clothes……cuz I got all the time in the world…I sit right back and watch my dreams unfurl……
