Daniel Elsberg from the Pentagon Papers and other places. Patrice brought him along with his wife Patricia. They live in Berkeley. We had a delightful evening at the dinner table. Kirsten, Lulu, and Leigh Hyams joined us. It was fun and I believe he got a good taste of Alternative San Miguel along with a great Chicken Korma that Richard made. Patrice really knows how to work a room and direct conversation. It was a spirited and delicious evening. The next morning Richard and I went to Patzcuaro with Gerry, Lolita, and Ajita….more about that later.

Remover of Obstacles
I drew out with grafite the first image for the mural outside the studio. It is a Ganesh theme. Of all the millions of Hindu gods and goddesses, I relate to Ganesh the most. Something about an elephant and being called Dumbo as a child. It seems my ears stuck out straight from my head and I got kidded at school and other places. It more or less set the mold for who I am today. I am trying to remove the obstacles that go hand and hand with being a wise guy and transform this energy into True Wisdom…workin’ on it…it takes time. I do know that I will be working on the mural in the morning and late afternoon. It is super hot on that scaffold. This is going to be fun and challenging….Yahoo!!!!!!! Richard took a pic of me starting the mural….I have included it.
This Sporting Life
I have been doing a lot of coming and going for the last month: Austin, Mexico City, and Patzcuaro. In the meantime, I have accomplished a few things…but I really need to get back into a routine. I have started a mural on the side of the house. That literally has me up in the air…on a scaffold. I will keep you posted on the progress. A friend of mine in town, Benjie, is helping me get a catalog together: “Artifacts from the Chapel of Jimmy Ray”. That is trully exciting….and yes….the Chapel reconstruction will
start soon. I hope around mid March or the Beginning of April. I am really going out on a limb when I declare that. My total devotion will be this project….it is great work. It is Life Work. I am absolutely blessed!
Madre de Los Indios
Here is a small pic of my Guadalupe tatoo. The Mother of the Indians graces my arm. This guy in Austin said,”Don’t you know you have a Catholic symbol on your arm?” I had to tell him that she was the godess of the Aztecs who appeared to a young Aztec man….the Catholic Church made her the Virgin to seal the Conquest (Tricky Fuckers!). She lives in the hearts of Mexicans and people like me who recognize her divinity and True Nature. Gracias, Guadalupe.
The Return to This Grooveland
Well I am back home in Mexico. Got a good feeling in my heart as we flew into Mexico City. It’s early in the morning here in la Cieneguita with two cats in the room and a new tatoo on my arm. I got a tatoo in Austin on Friday night. What a trip! It is Guadalupe! It looks pretty cool on my soon to be sixty year old arm. i have to say….it meets the groove. I hope to get a pic of it soon for my friends to see online. Will I become an illustrated man? Don’t think so…but I can see how these people become addicted to tatoos…..
A Surprise Awaits…
…those who see Anado when he returns to San Miguel next Monday from Austin, Texas…..Jimmy Ray has asked me to keep a lid on “just what”. But I promise you it will be cool. Only Harp and Amy know and they are sworn to secrecy. What I can divulge is that it is not a sex change and no…his hair will not be purple again. Anado reports that he is enjoying himself in Austin. It is a very cool place….he chimes in with the locals, “Keep Austin Weird”….Love to All!!!!!!!
