…just posting some photos of the incomplete fountain mosaic. Should be all finished today. I think the windows will be the next project and then we can work on the lighting. My show "Some Archetypes from the Universal Language" is scheduled for early March…that is going to be getting all the juice…I will design the window treatment and Carlos will put it together…I thank all gods and goddesses and all the allies and guides for helping me with these projects…
Chapel of Jimmy Ray Blog
Pluggin’…
… along…yes …pluggin' along at the Chapel sight. Richard did an outline of my body a few months back and we transferred the outline above the fountain at the Chapel sight. I have since lost 25 or more pounds (congrats to me!)….so we have been doing the mosaic work and the figure is a tad bit "gordo"…."Gordo" means fat….but we have to remember and honor the past (smile)….I am busy in and out of the studio…I have a show coming up at a museum here in Mexico in early March….so work on the Chapel site putters along….But I will go out on a limb and say that the Opening will be in late summer….wish me luck!
Sometimes You Just Have to Melt…
…and melt I did when I held this child on my kneww last evening. I played Santa and Richard was my elf and we gave out cany last night in San Miguel…the child belongs to Zoe and Oscar and for the life of me…I forget his name…but he knew who I was….yes, children…I am Santa….not your everyday Santa, of course…but Santa with barnacles from time to time…but I also have a heart capable of melting…let the holidays begin!
Today We Celebrate!
…we are celebrating the Feast of Guadalupe here in Mexico today. We were awakened a 6am to a barage of fireworks and the festivtiies began….we celebrate every year here on our property at our Guadalupe Shrine with our extended Mexican family…the Ramirez Clan. We enjoyed the morning with the music of Juaquin Jesus with piping hot tamales and Atole. We are absolutely blessed to have found ourselves here in this Culture…I marvel today at the blessings…Gracias Nuestra Madre de Los Indios!
My Mind is A’Jumble….
….it is filled to the brim with thought, judgements, and comparisons. I have spent way too much time today working with this obsessive mind going this way and that….Now is the time to take a step back from all expectation and count my blessings. No, Anado, there is nothing you can do to stop the yupification of San Miguel…the town got its proverbial stake in the heart after a recent visit by Martha Stewart…everyone seemed to be all a flutter by her visit…I just let out an inner sigh….sigggggghhhhhhhh. We do know this…most of America is asleep or drugged, so to many people, Martha Stewart represents a certain attainment….so now I know my place on the lowest rung of the ladder that leads to social attainment in this gringo outpost….everyone has a Buddha within and every Buddha has it's place…even Martha Stewart Buddha (the bodisattva of scones and marmalade)….life is bountiful and there is room for all…..
Life Feels Good…..
…I like the idea of living…it fits well…and sometimes you just can't write in your blog. Richard and I have been busy getting ready for our annual sale and open studio here at the house with the Goddess of Marketing: Patrice Wynne. It is always fun. So I have been avoiding this blog. We were in Mexico City picking up tee shirts…went to Xilitla over the Turkey Week (Not a big deal here in Mexico…but in San Miguel some of the expats are still under the spell)…that was fun. I proceeded to catch a cold when I got back and that sent me for a loop. I seem to always be rushing around while I am chopping wood and carrying water…and I get in my head…anyhow…I fell flat on my face in the midle of the street in Mexico City…head first into a plastic trash can on the curb…and I fell stepping into the bathroom yesterday and broke my glasses…Message? Do I hear a message? Is the writing on the Wall? Life does feel good…and it is important to relax into the immersion of experience….slow down, Anado…Life feels good…take time to feel it while I am living it! I wish everyone a Happy Day!
