….before the arrival of Lovee Groove, our next house guest. But before we really get into it…we have to enjoy our vacation here in Troncones. We have had a splendid time, once we escaped from Barra de Potosi. We are just being very very lazy…..doing absolutely just what we want. Every morning Richard and I have been collecting oyster shells and shell remnants with a coral and purplish tint…we used them before on the walls at Casa Kali and on a mirror that I completed recently….I find myself having flashes of guilt for not "working"…but ultimately I am…I am absorbing the beach….getting ready to return home to our life at Casa Las Ranas…love to all!

Troncones
Hi…we left for Troncones sooner than later. Barra de Potosi was not a good fit. Kirsten has joined us and we have a small bungalow for two nights and then we will go to Eden for two nights. It is like night and day when you compare the two different beaches that we have been on in the last week. I have been absolutely lazy for the last few days and tomorrow I need to do some work. I have to replace the two upstairs doors that I sold recently…so some prep work came with me and I will go for it in the morning. So…Richard and I are having a great rest and it is well deserved!!!!
Life is Not Always This Beach…
…some of you may know that we have come to a new beach destination this winter. We chose the wrong destination…so we are leaving later in the week for Troncones. The whole scene here in barra de Potosi is a bit much and not to our liking….So as you can tell by the enclosed photo…we are taking a deep breath and moving on. We would never have had room for Lovee Groove 'cuz we had to rent a smaller car. We found out that our power steering in the Ford was gone the day before we left….So Dear Lovee….we have this tiny Chevy and we do not have your regular U-Haul trailer hitch….Sending Love from Mexico to all!!
We Observed….
…we just got back from Big 'ol untamed belligerent and absolutely provocative Mexico City. One of the many highlights was the David Lachapelle photography show at Museo San Ildifonso. His images are so slick and shiny and cinema like. We loved it. Then another was Mark Powell's Opening in Condessa at Galeria Yautepec. What a scene! There must have been 500 people there…many young hipsters with smiling available faces. Our photograph (the one of us embracing) was the Center photo and the pivotal center of the show. We felt blessed….the margaritas were fabulous. Both of these shows gave us a view into the world of Celebrity Culture….for a brief time, every now and then, we visit that culture….that and every time we return home to this funky colorful universe with all our critters…we take a deep sigh and count our blessings!
Mexico City….
….Richard and I are in Mexico City with Sudheer, Childstar Wheeler, Patrice and 25 million others. We are here for 3 days…Museums, Openings, Street Life, Cheap Eats, Walking, Grooving, Photographing, Loving, Getting Tired and then Energized…all this and more. I love this town…it is so off kilter and edgy….included is a photo from the Ruth Lechuga complex of three apartments. She was a prolific collectoer of 20th Century Mexican Folk Art. We toured there yesterday….quite amazing….it felt like 1943 in there….
Lovee Lured by Food Scale…
….it's official, folks…Lovee La Lolitsky was lured to Mexico by Yours Truly with the promise of the use of our food scale. That girl loves her food, but as time creeps up on her (same age as Edie Sedgwick), not even going to the Dog Park with Maya can challenge those pesky calories. So we are having her down here to weigh her food. Pornstar, I mean Childstar is thrilled to have her younger protegee here to give her the meds that Anado has been so stingy with. Not only is Lovee coming down, but so is Dilly Jo, our favorite folklorist and Role Model. It was Dilly Jo that originally inspired Anado, Richard, and Lovee to get off the Magnums and stop watching 24….So the family is reuniting…. By the way, that is Cielo also known as Grey Groovaine checking out the scene in this photo…Love to all!
