There are some flower buds on the tree outside the window. Recent cold weather has burned some of the vines…happens every year. This Phd guy who deals with fossils and bones was out here recently and caught this picture of me in the studio…must be a Spring Sighting. I could use a few buds blossoming in my interior…I am feeling a bit stuck today. I know it will pass, but I feel that I am dragging my feet. This “woe is me” thing is not very spring-like. I need a gentle nudge and not a kick in the buttocks. A push into my creative fires is desired…maybe I will fold the laundry. Love to all!

Ban Lon
When I was a child growing up in Oklahoma City I had a thing for what I thought were cool clothes. My Mother introduced me to style (Oklahoma Style). I love madras shorts and saddle oxfords…but I really like Ban Lon shirts. There were two varieties…the cheap and the one’s that sold for over 10 dollars….I liked the more expensive…you could tell..these Ban Lons had class. Anyhow, my Mother bought me a cheap one…what a drag…so I wore it to the store where the expensive one’s were sold. I picked up an over ten dollar Ban Lon in my size and took it into the dressing room…I took all the pins and price tags off…took the cheap shirt off, and did a switch. I walked out of the store like nothing had happened. That night my Mother got a call from the store…Mister Caudill…Phil Caudill’s dad. Phil and I went to school together. My switch was not that smooth…something about crooked pins and such…they had me. I had to return the good Ban Lon…I thought about this today as I was croosing the railroad tracks…just a thought of a thread of the weaving that went into making me the man that I am today. True Confessions! I only wear cotton now. Ban Lon’s would not work. Ah…the progress of the soul in this man that I am. That Prit’s and I revelling last Holidays behind Varsha and David who were visiting from Hawaii.
There’s a Wall Goin’ On
They layed the first sillar (large earthen brick) today. The walls of the office are going up. I happened to watch Carlos bless the Four Directions before laying down the cement for the corner stone of the office. I love it! I will take a picture tomorrow. So all of this is happening after all. Something for me to ponder while stuck in traffic…refusing to blow my abusive horn. So there! Nay sayers….the walls are going up!!!!!!!
The Temple of Joy
I awaken these mornings to Billy White’s and Jennifer Grais’ songs that will be on the Sound track of the Old Ways film that Joe did. Billy is a genius…I can lay air guitar with ease to his songs. Jennifer has the voice of the Divine…she is inspiring. I feel so absolutely blessed in this life to work with such benevolent beings. Carlos and the guys are working away on the Chapel Office. Jimmy Ray has given me some surprising design ideas. Gracias, mi amigo, Jimmy Ray…..life is so rich. I am finishing up on Bill Reiner and Stan Grays piece, got some jobs ligned up…staying in the flow. This is Anado McLauchlin reporting from the desk of Richard Schultz on a chilly January morning at Casa las Ranas! Gracias, Dios!!!!
I Forgot
I forgot to do the blog alot during the time that my computer was being sick and down. It has healed now…so I have no excuses. So this is Anado McLauchlin reporting from the master bedroom at Casa las Ranas on a chilly January morning. The guys are plugging along down at the chapel sight. We pretty much have a foundation for the office….this is going to be really cool. To see it happening really gets me going. Work in the studio is moving along, but I can be more productive. Billy White has finished the most amazing music for the film. He and Jennifer have given the film such a gifted nudge. Well…gotta go to work, Love to all!!!
Steak Sandwich Incident
Yesterday at lunch I nearly choked on a steak sandwich. It was like it was happening in slow motion. I could not swallow or dislodge the chunk of food. Richard came from behind and beat on my chest and it dislodged like a technicolor dolma-like turd from my throat (excuse the graphics). It was definately a scare and a Zen Stick from Existance. Wow…God Bless, Dear Richard!!!! So I am still here breathing on this very planet. The office above the chapel is really happening. The foundation is all dug out. The cement and Cal are here…the rocks arrive today. I am hoping that it will be finished in two or three months….this is our practice building project for the eventual Chapel of Jimmy Ray. We will do it….it makes me happy.
