Richard just sent me this photo taken awhile back…maybe 2000? God I have had white hair for a long time….does this mean I am permanently old? Lolita? How do you deal with this possibility in yourself? The rest of you who never leave comments, how do you deal with it? I guess, I am an aging groover too…as they used to say at the Donut Shop on Stanyan Street way back when (1967)…"I can dig it…if you can dig it…."

Was it taken in the garden at the Pritama’s house…no??? It has a bit of grey tinge to it, not as white as now I think.
I say, if it looks GOOD gray/grey/white, what does it have to do with age, if I don’t really FEEL the age? And if I decide some time in the future to dye my hair because I don’t like the way the grey looks, well, so be it. I am not so fooolish to think it will make me look younger, those days are over. BROWN, RED, WHITE, BLONDE–THE WRINKLES TELL ALL! Oh, and the hands, those cute veiny spotty hands, that show the years in the garden without gloves, my hands enjoying the feel of the dirt! And do I give a ****how they look?? No, they are MY hands! Well, in all honesty, I like them to feel smooth. I think it would be fun to do an “Old-
hand” photo, ya know, like we’re now “old hands” at life, and here’s the hands to prove it…

Well, honey, a person might as well get used to it, cause it ain’t gonna go the other way. As far as old goes, one can only hope it goes far (as in Consider the alternative). It’s hard to get used to it, though, because just as soon as you think you have, whoops! it gets worse!
Anyway, old is not a hair color (look at me); it’s just one more stage in the life (clears throat)and just as good as the others (except for its place in the order of things). Gotta love it…
